Communication is fundamental for society. The sharing of ideas, wants, and needs is necessary for individuals to exist in a community. For many people with special needs, communication is a frustrating wall that they struggle to break through. There is a great amount of Assistive Technology aimed at helping connect people that do not have the luxuries of consistent and clear communication tools at their access.

Augmentative communication (AAC for short) is an alternative way to help students and adults with language disorders use expressive language or receptive language. Augmentative communication can be accomplished through assistive technology devices such as computers or hand held devices.
